What this site knows about your visit

Visits are counted, and that is the whole of it. There is no advertising, no profile and no cookie banner, because there is nothing here that would need one. Who is responsible is on the imprint page.

Controller

Frank Gregor, at the address given in the imprint. Questions about your data go to hallo@layered.work.

Hosting

This site is served by GitHub Pages, so GitHub, Inc. delivers the files and, like any web server, sees the requests that reach it. The pages themselves are static, and there is no database and no account behind them.

Counting visits

Visits are counted with Umami, which runs on a server of my own in Prague rather than at an analytics company, so nothing about your visit is handed to a third party for their own purposes.

Per page view it records the address you opened, the page title, the site that referred you, your browser language and your screen size. It sets no cookie and reads nothing that identifies you across sites or across days. Like any web server it sees the IP address a request carries, which is used to work out the country and is not kept with the visit.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, the interest being to know whether anybody uses this and which pages are worth writing. If your browser sends Do Not Track, nothing is counted.

Your rights

You can ask what is stored about you, and ask for it to be corrected, deleted or restricted, and object to it being processed at all. One email to the address above is enough.

You can also complain to the Austrian data protection authority, which handles this in Austria and takes complaints in English. Its pages are at dsb.gv.at.
